While no part of this work is as mystically compelling as the Daodejing, it is replete with humerous anecdotes, philosophical dialogues and monologues that indirectly indicate what the Dao might be. Eveything else, according to Zhuangzi, is just ideological nonsense. As we in the 21st century deal with economic strife, social division, and a lack of purpose in our daily lives, his attested words are a cathartic reminder that we shouldn't take anything too seriously apart from the pressing concerns of our immediate environment. Zhuangzi is a philosopher who is just as relevant to our time as he was over 2,000 years ago. ![]()
